Y8 Media - Weeks 6- 10 Homework Tasks – Researching and Persuading

Week Six

You need to find a persuasive piece of text- look in newspapers, magazines, leaflets.  Identify as many FEARRRS techniques as you can by underlining them in different colours.  You then need to write a paragraph to say how effective you think it is in persuading you.

Week Seven

You are applying for the following job:

Office junior wanted to help in busy estate agents, on Saturday mornings.

Duties will include photocopying, basic typing, and meeting clients as they enter the office.

You should be confident and have the ability to work independently.  A good sense of humour and friendly manner would also be helpful.

You need to write a letter in response informing the employer of your skills and persuading them to give you a job.

Week Eight

You should think of a current issue you feel strongly about e.g global warming, animal testing, world poverty.  Research the subject and make detailed notes about it.

Week Nine

Write a rough draft of a leaflet informing people about your chosen issue, remember to think about layout, target audience, inform/explain features.

Week Ten

You should produce a neat copy of your ‘issues’ leaflet, this can be done using ICT or can be paper based.
