Welcome to the Key Stage
3 pages
These pages are designed to
assist pupils who are working towards their end of Key Stage 3 tests (SATs).
The KS3 course is broken into 6 units- 3 of which are studied in Year 7 and
the other 3 in Year 8.
By the end of Year 8 most
students should be working at Level 5 of the National Curriculum. In
2004 71% of our students reached Level 5 or above in their end of Key Stage
3 tests.
Year 7
- Unit 1: Childhood
- Unit 2: Outsiders
- Unit 3: War Poetry
Year 8
- Unit 4: Other
Cultures
- Unit 5: Media
- Unit 6: Shakespeare
Alongside these 'unit of work'
lessons, pupils will also spend one lesson per week working on their
literacy skills. This time could be spent in our newly built fully
interactive ICT suite or in the classroom.
Whatever the location, the focus of these lessons will be punctuation,
spelling and language skills.
